A lorry has crashed and veered off the M5 carriageway near Stroud between junctions 13 and 14 on the Southbound side of the motorway. The incident occurred shortly after 6am on Thursday morning. Fortunately, the driver of the lorry is uninjured, as confirmed by the police who are currently at the scene. As a precaution, the speed limit in the surrounding area has been reduced to 50mph. Further details are being sought from Gloucestershire Police. According to Inrix, there is currently a temporary hold on all traffic, resulting in stationary traffic, due to the accident on the M5 Southbound from J13 A419 (Stroud) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield). The vehicle involved has reportedly left the carriageway.
