Last night, near Exeter St Thomas, a man was rushed to the hospital with injuries that are expected to alter his life, after an incident on the train tracks. The authorities were alerted around 8pm, prompting the immediate response of police and paramedics. Consequently, train services between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot were temporarily halted. Numerous emergency vehicles were captured at the scene until the lines were reopened around 10pm.
The British Transport Police (BTP) have confirmed that the injured individual was transported to the hospital. According to a comprehensive statement by a BTP spokesperson to Devon Live, the man’s injuries are believed to be life-changing. The spokesperson further stated, “At 8pm last night, officers received reports of a casualty on the tracks in Exeter St Thomas. Paramedics were also dispatched, and the man was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are believed to have a lasting impact. The incident is not considered suspicious.”
